Sealed proposals for the construction of the Sashabaw Regional Drain Maintenance project will be received by the Township Clerk for the Charter Township of Independence, until 10:00 a.m., Local Time on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened remotely and read. Currently Independence Township offices are closed to the public.
Pursuant to the State of Emergency Resolution adopted by the Independence Township Board of Trustees dated March 17, 2020, Resolution No. 2020-07, due to COVID-19 pandemic the Township has instituted temporary measures to abide by the Governor’s Executive Orders and to protect the health and safety of the public and Township employees. By the authority granted the Township Supervisor under Resolution 2020-07, it is hereby declared appropriate and acceptable for all Bid Responses to be opened remotely, electronically or in person by the Clerk’s Office at a date and time agreed upon after the bid due date. As close as practical, the Clerk and/or her representative will open the Bid Responses at the same time and the Clerk shall record the results. A bid tally sheet will be prepared and provided to all bidders and filed in the Clerk’s office. No bids will be awarded without written authorization of the Township Supervisor and Clerk noting compliance with the adopted temporary procedures.
